Our Grounds

Coulscott has 14 acres of gardens and grounds for guests to use. There are streams, ponds, wooded areas, lawns, meadows and fields.

With the exception of Bantam every cottage has it's own terrace and/or lawn. (Bantam has it's own seating area in the communal courtyard).

Our free range birds wander through out the grounds, please only feed them by the ponds - or they may end up in your cottage.

The alpaca enclosure is by our ponds and contains our hen house and peacock shelter. The animals are always happy to see our guests down here. A dam takes you over to a newly reclaimed meadow and lawn area - which we are slowly turning in to a Mediterranean garden.

There are a stile and dog gate which lead in to our 4 and 6 acre fields. These are rather steep but very beautiful, with a lovely wooded stream running along the bottom. The fields often have cattle in them - for your own safety dogs must be off the lead while there are cattle in the fields. Our alpaca are sometimes let in to the fields to allow the grass to recover in their enclosure.

Please only go in our two fields and not on to our neighbours land - as you may come across his bull in a field. Sometimes you may be lucky enough to seen the Highland Cows in our fields.
